Hallo Franz,
nach einer ersten Testpartie sieht alles richtig aus. Am Wochenende werde ich trotzdem noch einmal das Original vom Dachboden holen.

Für die Umsetzung danke ich Dir! Auch wenn das Programm nicht so wahnsinnig spielstark ist, mag ich es trotzdem. Immerhin steckt ein echter Weltmeister von 1984 im Modul ... wenngleich bei der WM noch eine andere Firma verantwortlich war ... U.R. wurde ja schnell abgeworben, da der Mephisto Glasgow bei kurzen Bedenkzeiten einfach zu schwach war ... was lag da näher, als einen anderen 'Titelgewinner' einzukaufen.

Da es schnell gehen musste, stimmen die Tastenanordnung und das Menusystem in keinster Weise mit dem MM I bzw. den späteren Mephis überein ...

Schon darum ist dieses Modul bemerkenswert ... und irgendwie hat das Programm auch Charme ... ich mag die ungeschliffene Art seines Spiels. Schön, daß es dieses Programm jetzt auch für das Notebook gibt ...

Und ich hoffe Dein Urteil fällt danach immer noch genauso positiv aus, Sascha.

Ein wenig skeptisch bin ich eigentlich nur bei diesen Spezial-Tasten des B&P, die es in anderen Modulen gar nicht gibt - ich hoffe daß all diese Sonderfunktionen auch wirklich richtig funktionieren. Testen konnte ich das leider nicht, da ich keinen B&P besitze, und so mußte ich mich einfach darauf verlassen, daß die Tastaturcodes beim B&P gleich wie beim MM II sind - was dann mit dem jeweiligen Tastaturcode geschieht (d.h. welche Funktion ausgeführt wird), bestimmt ja ohnehin der Programmcode im B&P-ROM.
Aber da sich diese beiden Modelle so sehr gleichen (und auch im gleichen Jahr erschienen sind), gehe ich mal davon aus, daß Hegener&Glaser hardwaremäßig nicht wirklich was geändert haben (außer eben den ROM-Code).

Na ja, ich laß mich mal überraschen ...

Neither Nigel Short is a novelty. On September 5, 2013 was released Messui Nigel Short in the Spanish forum MECA . It´s only a clone of Milano, with the rom dump of Spanish hardware expert Berger.

Yes, you can press two keys at once using the function keys , e.g. Polgar / Polgar 10 pressing F8 + F7 resets the program. The condition is that all keys are activated , which does not always happen, but it works in Polgar / Polgar 10 Milano / Nigel Short and all Lang after Almeria , including Berlin .

It is useful to know the version of the emulation and test the Ram , achieved on the keyboard cursor LEFT + keyboard ENT and with mouse click Options / soft reset.
Your Portorose 68020 version is the v101 , for example.

Yes, I know and I appreciate your work, especially creating different PNG-files for some module, because before that many modules just showed the Almeria picture.
I just took those files and made a few more changes (brighter board-LEDs and better adjustment of some keys), just as you took the files from the original MESS site, so I would say that is no problem, right?
We are all just doing some work for the community without getting anything back!
Oh, I didn't notice this because I've rather used the Dallas 16 or 32, and here everything is ok.
But you're right, and many thanks for your fix - I've now also updated my artwork-files, and here's the link for CB-Emu users (because my artworks have still a few other differences):

ich konnte keine Abweichungen im Spielverhalten (Timing, Zugauswahl) des B&P feststellen, auch die Tastatur ist korrekt ... super Umsetzung, noch einmal herzlichen Dank für Deine Arbeit!

ich habe zwar viele Mephisto Schachcomputer bzw. Module, aber was benötigt man, um aus den ROMs die Software für des Mess Emulator bereit zu stellen?

Hi Lars,

dazu brauchst Du nur ein EPROM-Lesegerät um aus den ROMs entsprechende Binär-Dateien für MESS zu machen.
Oder jemanden der so ein Lesegerät hat und das Auslesen für Dich übernimmt.

bevor Du dafür unnötig Geld ausgibst - solche ROM-Dumps nutzen Dir natürlich nur dann etwas, wenn das entsprechende Modell auch schon in MESS implementiert ist. Also einfach nur irgendeine neue ROM-Datei erzeugen und in MESS kopieren funktioniert leider nicht, da müßtest Du auch schon die entsprechenden Treiber dazu schreiben, und das ist sicher nicht einfach.

Wollte Dich nur warnen, nicht daß Du eine falsche Vorstellung vom Nutzen so eines EPROM-Lesegeräts hast ...
