Hello Larry,

you need a soldering iron to desolder the battery base pins from the board; they are welded to the battery. The best is, to desolder the base pins and to replace the battery by a battery holder where you can easily mount and exchange the battery later on, when you have the same problem again.

could purchase those batteries with the battery holder already attached.
It was a simple job. Please have patience with me, I am seven years older
