AW: Re: Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
Hello Clive,
not sure I understand correctly: - If all devices are as well running at 300% emulator speed, it simply decreases the duration of the tournament; games should complete in about 10 minutes instead of 30. Perfectly fine, as long as all devices comply with this acceleration. The GK2100' performance is still the 32Mhz device' one. It is just "time compression" at your benefit. There is no "96Mhz" GK2100 involved. It still is a 32Mhz GK2100 playing in a fast forward view mode. - If only the GK2100 benefits from 300% emulator speed, then you need to increase again the level setting, from 90 minutes to 270 per game, that's 4.5 hours, in order to achieve the moves a 96Mhz GK2100 would provide. Such a level isn't available. Therefore to my understanding, only the first statement applies, and your games headers should state "Saitek GK2100 32Mhz", should'nt they? All the best, Eric |

Re: Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
Hi Eric,
Okay, let me explain. First off... The GK2100 normally runs at 20MHz. With the CB-Emu you can increase this to 32MHz. Then using the Arena GUI I can set say the Modena to 'Game in 30' running at normal time ie 100%. Then I set the GK2100 to Game in 90 mins but speed up the emulation to 300%. Therefore it will play all its moves in 30 mins. When you watch the emulations the Modena is playing normally but the GK display flashes 3x faster. The Arena GUI is set to record the games at 30min +6 sec to allow for the moves to be played. Hope this makes sense! Best regards Clive |

AW: Re: Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
I was wondering which unit to test next, and as Paulwise3 has mentioned there is a poor showing for Frans Morsch.
Now, I no longer own a Atlanta or Milano Pro which would put in a good showing. So I have opted to use the CB-Emu GK2100 but I have increased the MHz to 32 via the options and I have set it to run Game in 90 rather than 30. I have increased the speed by 300% to bring it in line with its opponents. I have tested this and it works well as long as you don't try and press the info button while it is running. So we have a GK2100 at a simulated 96MHz! Here you are saying you have a GK2100 at 96 MHz. That is what Tibono is asking about. Best regards, Paul .

Re: Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
Hi Paul,
Tibono is correct in that the GK2100 is running at 32MHz. However the 3x increase is because I am running the GK 3x faster in time compared with the other machines. Ie it is running game in 90 in 30 mins where as the other machines are running game in 30 in 30 mins. I Think Tibono thought I was speeding all the machines up 3 times which of course would not make any difference. Best regards Clive |
