Aufgrund eines einzelnen Ausreißers sollte man keine voreiligen Schlüsse ziehen. Auch die max. spezifizierte CPU-Frequenz ist kein hinreichendes Argument. Das Gerät könnte getuned sein oder sogar vom Hersteller absichtlich übertaktet. Ich habe unzählige Computer und Module offen gesehen, wo die CPU ganz offensichtlich serienmäßig und in voller Absicht jenseits der Spezifikation betrieben wurde. Das war damals einfach so... 25-50% waren durchaus üblich.

For Boris Diplomat, the emulated CPU frequency is measured by comparing the blinking rate with a video recording.
If chess calculations are still too slow but blink timing is correct, then there's definitely something wrong with internal CPU timing emulation.

CP2000 is exactly 2.0MHz according to the manual(8.2 Specifications). If it was a higher speed by overclocking, I'd expect them to brag about it in there.

If the device has a quartz crystal or an oscillator it should help to open it and have a look at the quartz.

Chess computers with F8 CPU and XTAL are:
- Compuchess - 1.78MHz
- Boris - 2MHz
- Savant - 4Mhz/2 divider (sub-cpu, handling keyboard & lcd)

No XTAL:
- Delta 1 (2MHz, LC circuit measured)
- Conic Computer Chess/Master I (2MHz, LC circuit measured)
- MK I (approx 2.18MHz measured)
- Chess Traveler/Pocket Chess (3MHz/2 divider, measured)
- Boris Diplomat (3MHz/2 divider, guessed)
- CP2000 (2MHz guessed)

with "measure", in this case I mean electronically measure the CPU clock pin with an oscilloscope or gadget.
