Die SM Paris School Schachprogrammtests haben sich jetzt auf 30 abgeschlossene Tests erhöht. Die Pariser Schule ist für die meisten Schachcomputer besonders schwierig, wie Sie an den Ergebnissen sehen können. Besonders Testpartie 1.



Nachstehend finden Sie eine Tabelle, in der die Prüfungen der Renaissance-Schule mit denen der Pariser Schule kombiniert werden.



Diesmal hatte ich mich auf die schwachen Computer im unteren Bereich konzentriert.

Wie ich bereits erwähnt habe, wird Novag Emerald höchstwahrscheinlich überdurchschnittlich gut abschneiden, da er bei seiner Turniereinstellung AT7 im Durchschnitt etwa 15 Minuten pro Zug benötigt.

Hi Nick,

when I play tournament games with Emerald (or other H8 Novags) I use Level tr7 (square A7) that should represent 20 moves/120 minutes. Maybe the results would then be more realistic!?

It is square A7 that I am using for the tests. Maybe it is just my Emerald that is so slow on this level. Maybe it is just my Emerald that is slow, you can follow the clock and it changes seconds correctly, it just takes a very long time per move.

Maybe in the future I will go back and see if I can use a different setting that allows for 3 minutes per move and compare results.

It is my fault, lots of Novag use A7 square for AT7 so I think of it subconsciously as AT7. I need to rename it on the spreadsheets to either A7 (square) or TR7.

Hier habe ich ein Bild von Novag Emerald gemacht, der in der Berliner Schule Testpartie 5, Zug 17 Schwarz berechnet. 15 Minuten und 10 Sekunden und ich rechne immer noch. Das ist mit einer Einstellung von A7 Feld, die TR7 = 2 Stunden/40 Züge sein sollte.



Vielleicht kann jemand, der einen Novag Emerald hat, dies überprüfen und bestätigen, so dass ich weiß, dass es entweder ein Problem mit Novag Emerald oder mit meinem Computer ist. Ich habe auch schon einmal den kompletten Testsatz mit 30 Sekunden pro Zug gespielt (Feld a5) und es dauert auch länger als es sollte (eher 3 minuten pro Zug)

Ich denke, dass die TR Einstellungen von Novag Emerald nicht konform sind.

Hi Nick,
I don‘t think there is a problem with your Emerald. Mine does it the same way.
It’s the typical (good) Novag time management on tournament level. The more moves you make in a very short time the more time the computer saves for computing the next move.
For example, when it is in its opening book for, let’s say, 20 moves, then has to calculate, it takes often longer than 20 minutes for the first response (on tr7).
The same happens when you use the referee/multi move function to reach a specific position. Emerald counts the number of moves from the new game position and thinks: oh, it’s move 18, I haven’t spent any time so I’ll look at the next move for 20 minutes.

Ok that means I am going to have to find another setting to simulate 3 minutes per move otherwise Novag's will get higher scores than they really should. Any suggestions on a setting?

Worst case A5 square under these take back conditions seem to simulate closer to 3 minutes per move.

... maybe try Level At8 = Average time 3 Minutes = square B8.

OK when I finish with TR7 I will go back and do it again with At8. 60 Minute game might be interesting too since the tests average out at 20 moves for white and 20 moves black.
