Re: Yeno 301XL ein Morsch ?!
Hello,
In order to find the programmer of Chess King Triomphe and Yeno 301XL, does anyone know of programmers who don't use the classic 1 3 3 5 9 piece values? Cordially.

Damit wäre meine Morsch-These vom Tisch. Aber auch David Levy's Aussage, der Programmierer heisse Jon Green, (Bray -> Grey -> Green?? ![]() Gruss, bataais M.E. ist Bray nicht der Autor - sondern dies steht für Bray Research Ltd. Ebenfalls im Jahr 1988 erschien von Atari Mindgames für den Atari ST "Backgammon", (C) Atari Corp. 1988 (C) Bray Research Ltd. 1988 Gruß Hans-Jürgen |

Re: Yeno 301XL ein Morsch ?!
Hello,
Well found, CC7. Also I think that Bray Research Ltd. simply bought the rights to the program created by ICSL for the Chess King/Lansay Triumph ( "(C)1985ICSL" in ROM ). Bray Research Ltd then supplied it with "(C)1988Bray" signature to Yeno for the 301XL. It would be interesting to know the signature in the Counter Gambit ROM and its date. Cordially. |

In 1985 Kenneth W. Martin founded ICSL, the Integrated Circuits and Systems Laboratory in Southern California. Kenneth W. Martin often worked together with David Johns. In 1988 Dr. Martin founded - no, not Bray Research Ltd. but Snowbush Microelectronics...so maybe I am on the wrong track with Kenneth W. Martin. By the way in the Atari Mindgames series in 1988 also Go-Moku/Renju was published for the Atari ST, (C) 1988 Bray Research Ltd., author unknown. Regards Hans-Jürgen |

Re: Yeno 301XL ein Morsch ?!
ICSL = Intelligent Chess Software Ltd =)
Makes sense since Chess King involved the same people. Intelligent Software went under in 1986 or 1987. Maybe Bray Research was a new company founded by several ex-employees, or the programmer that worked on Triomphe switched jobs to a different software house. BTW the following could mean nothing, since both companies created board games software: Intelligent Software also released a Gomoko/Renju game: https://www.mobygames.com/game/49076/gomoku-renju/ Geändert von hap (04.02.2024 um 12:44 Uhr) |
