Hi Steve,

That seems to be one of the few missing features of Lichess: operators and kibitzers cannot see each others communication.
On iSchach this is possible, but that is a less stable site.

Edit: correction: the operators can communicate with the kibitzers, but kibitzers cannot see communication between operators either...

while watching the games i was able to chat with other kibitzers but not the players

i have played most of my online games on Playchess
there was no such limitation on who could chat with whom
players and Kibitzers could all chat
sequestering the players from the audience detracts from the concept of a friendly match i think
