is there any reason of importance for not participating the currently announced PDA tounament? Guess, the iSchach server isn't the reason and in my opinion chess needs no language. For this tournament the PDAs are limited from 400 MHz up to 624 MHz. Ruud Martin's machines are limited to Resurrection-2 and Revelation (both without weak Ruffian and stupid Deep Sjeng 1.8). After finishing this one, a further tournament under participation by the latest PDA generation will be announced. If you want to join, you're always welcome!

If I am willing to participate, and the bases of the tournament, maybe I can be the HTC Diamond PDA (528 Mhz) with Fritz 4, for example. The language of what he said, because I like to talk much during the games, and here speak very little. I have to send any specification of the PDA?

nice to read this! There is just a little problem:
Ruud Martin likes to join this tounament with Revelation Hiarcs 13. At the moment he tries to put this engine into the Revelation and cannot promise to be in time. If he does, you cannot play the main engine of Pocket Fritz 4, because this is nothing else than Hiarcs 13 too and i do not allow an engine playing twice. Therefore i recommend to look for another engine. If Ruud cannot play with Hiarcs 13, you are the one to take it over. Hope this is fine for you?

As it concerns the HTC Diamond / 528 MHz, it would be nice to receive some informations about this device. Maybe you can take some photos while it is running your favourite engine? Have a look at the "Mapi" tournament from 2008, where you can find lots of informations about computers, engines and users, participating this event. I'd like to perform an equal presentation for the new tournament pages.

I will update the tournament list within the next 24 hours and you will find your HTC listed.

Bobby Fischer has been the player most chess has become popular throughout the history of the game, and I think is the best player of all time, by the struggle and ultimate victory over Spasky alone, is, that I only see this great player on the chessboard. I love chess and Kasparov and has surpassed his achievement. Like many geniuses, eventually escaped from reality.

Hi Carlos,

there is no fixed schedule for this tournament. I want to start on the second weekend after our 7th Online-WCC ends. It seems, this Online-WCC might end during the next few days, but still there is one match without schedule (Sparc vs Roma). Therefore the PDA tournament will either start on April 2nd, or at least on the 9th. I will announce the fixed date as soon as possible.

During the tournament, one or another operator is going for holiday. As i don't like any time pressure, everyone should be patient - this event might take a while to come to its end.


Have you already joined to www.ischach.net? I need your nickname for the tounament list.

Hi Carlos,

the chess client might be hard to use, if you don't have enough english skills. There is no way than to try around. Maybe we should meet on the server and i will try to explain the most important functions. Unfortunately i cannot do this before next Saturday, as i'm usually not at home during the week and therefore only get little time for internet.

In my opinion it is most important to use the client software and not the applet. You should download and install, if not already happend. Further you should register for "Fairplay" at the servers homepage. This option allows you to chat during a game you are watching. Registered members get "-R" for "registered" behind their nicknames. It often takes some time, before the webmaster follows your request - maybe a couple of days! Fairplay means, you don't cheat with computers help, because this is a server for human players only. But we have permission to play our little chesscomputer tournaments in the chess room "Gigaliga".

Usually we play "unrated" games during computer tounaments, because the one or another chesscomputer friend likes to play human matches on this server and got a rating there. Because the server keeps care on time, it is important to set a long time level. I prefer 600+0 which means 10 hours and is always enough for our 30s/move games.

For now that's enough. I have to prepare for my job.

Ruud told me that he is close to finish the implementation of Hiarcs 13 to Revelation and asked me to test this engine during the tournament, as his time is very little. Of course Ruud will operate one or the other match himselves. Therefore you have to choose for another engine. Still there are many strong PDA engines availabe. Maybe one or the other from the large Fruit/Toga family or one from the shredder's? Once you decide, i will add your favourite engine to the list.
