It simply amazes me why the examples shown in the video only involve players who obviously have no idea about chess. The level of the games is worse than for a beginner who has enjoyed a serious single chess lesson.

Well at least Chessnut Air haven't wasted their 'Start Up' money employing Grandmaster Levon Aronian like ChessUp have. Why on earth would they think that by employing a Grandmaster more people will buy their products.

Just think how much money Kasparov has milked Saitek of endorsing their products. It certainly didn't tempt me.

I think that the ChessUp board is a very good idea. But you will still need someone to advise the beginner why a particular highlighted bad move actually is bad move.

I share your opinion about ChessUp. I just find it a pity when a video about a
new excellent chess board like Chessnut mainly demonstrates moves that are
so bad that even inexperienced chess players with few chess lessons have to
laugh. This is not a good advertisement to sell a serious product.

Obviously you are correct especially with the Katzenpapa's video where black has a lost game after move 4.

Here is an eboard from China that has been on the market since 2019.
Notice that the control unit at the side is slightly similar to the Chessnut Air.

Da hänge ich mit BearChess ja ganz schön hinterher
Mit Bluetooth klappt es auch schon einwandfrei, nur über USB gibt es noch Probleme. Die USB-Verbindung wird unter Windows nicht als COM-Port eingetragen, sondern als "Human Interface Device", also sowas wie eine Tastatur.
Wenn die Verbindung klappt, dann ist alles gut, aber ich bekomme häufig beim Öffnen der Verbindung einen Fehler.
Aber jetzt bin ich aus dem Urlaub zurück und kann mich noch intensiver darum kümmern.
