AW: Tuning Igor Excalibur
Hi Queegmeister,
Igor or the identical Grand Master can be tunened easily by changing the crystal from 12 Mhz to 24 Mhz an S type (standard or groung tone) is needed. The clock now runs in double-speed, there is no way to avoid this. After tuning you can play for e. g. 30sek/move with level 58 (1 min/move) or blitz with whole game in 5 min with level 75 (game in 10 min.). Unfortunately there are no corresponding levels for tournaments, so the tuning is useless here. Regards Achim |

AW: Tuning Igor Excalibur
there is an adaptive level (1?) where the machine adapts the level by counting the time of the opponent. this can be used for tournament levels of all kind.

![]() Thank you for your replies ! Igor now sounds like Alvin the chipmunk - but he's pretty mean now on fast time controls. The clock does run faster, as expected so I doubled it like you suggest. I played a match with the Saitek Chess Challenger vs Igor and Igor lost although the time was set correctly -
I was wondering if anyone has a list of safe models to tune ( in particular the RS 2200x ) not 2200xl but I heard they are close - same type of crystal ? How many mhz can it take safely ? Of course Igor is much more challenging to play and it's hard to move slowly with the clock whizzing away ! many Thanks, Queeg Geändert von Queegmeister (05.06.2013 um 06:01 Uhr) |
