Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
Hello fellow Schachcomputer enthusiasts!
Over the past few months I have been testing a few CCs in an all play all tourney. Initially it was going to be a small tournament for under 2000elo dedicated chess computers, but I decided to expand it a bit and try some stronger units as well. So far we have 28 computers playing each other twice at game in 30 mins. The games are all played using the excellent CB-Emulator by Franz Huber. The ratings are from Eric Hallsworth superb Selective Search magazine issue 160 (it is the only one I have a hard copy of). I have attached the PGN file to this post for you to peruse. I was surprised at the top candidate. Dedicated CC.pgn Clive |

Surprising to see the Tasc R30 2.23 as winner with 43.5/54 and 2 points ahead of all other 27 computers.Kind regards Kurt |

Hello Clive,
Great tournament! I only regret that apart from the Modena there is no other Frans Morsch computer involved... Best regards, Paul .

Hello Clive,
I find the clear lead of the Mephisto Nigel Short and Mephisto Milano over the Mephisto Polgar remarkable. Kind regards, Egbert |

Re: AW: Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
Agreed. They are all close in rating but the Polgar seemed to struggle at this time control. Best regards Clive |

Re: Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
I was wondering which unit to test next, and as Paulwise3 has mentioned there is a poor showing for Frans Morsch.
Now, I no longer own a Atlanta or Milano Pro which would put in a good showing. So I have opted to use the CB-Emu GK2100 but I have increased the MHz to 32 via the options and I have set it to run Game in 90 rather than 30. I have increased the speed by 300% to bring it in line with its opponents. I have tested this and it works well as long as you don't try and press the info button while it is running. So we have a GK2100 at a simulated 96MHz! First opponent is Modena. So it is Morsch v Morsch.
