The left edge connector does not do anything on the MK V. The module slot next to the LCD works, maybe the intelligent sensor board was designed to plug into there.

The "dumb" sensory board from 1983 only works with MK VI. Even if I forcefully add it to MK V, the program will just lock up.
Well the english manual says (on page 9) "The PERIPHERAL KEY enables you to switch this special chessboad (they talk about the auto sensory board here) on and off to use its different modes, and to use any other peripherals we may introduce in the future."

In my opinion this means that also the other sensory board should work with the Mark V.

But... the world will continue rotating around the sun, even if it doesn't work
