I was wondering how much time it takes to calculate the full 10th ply in minutes & seconds of the diagram above, black to play on either
an 486/33Mhz and/or 386 25/33 Mhz ?
How to do ?
Launch Fritz 1 and go for the levels menu. Then select user defined and enter the Ply depth search, enter 10. This assures the computer stops at the end of the full 10th ply search tree. I would just like to have the time in minutes : seconds
Could someone with such a reference PC setup the position and provide me the time in minutes & seconds after having computated the full tree of the 10th ply. ? I would like to use my Dos Emulator 0.74 and reduce/increase the CPU cycles within untill I reach the same depth in about the same time. This would in this case emulate my current PC System (Q8300) as if it were a 386 or 486 reference machine. As I used to play games with Fritz 1 in the early days (eighties) and have still some amount of games in my database, I could revive Fritz 1 in its other body (cloning) and challenge it with my current Chesscomputers (he could be added to the Belgian Closed Tournament).
