In der ersten Partie konnte Ivan mit Weiss wieder schnell und eindrucksvoll gewinnen, wie gegen den TS. Mit Schwarz hatte er mehr Probleme und der SoMo erreichte eine druckvolle Stellung. Da er einen Bauern im Rückstand war und der Gewinnweg hinter dem Rechenhorizont lag, provozierte er ein Remis.
