O-O {Till here the openingbook of both.} 9. Qd2 $6 $15 {
Strange setup especially for a computer !} b6 $11 (9... Nd4 10. Nxd4 Bxd4+ 11.
Kh1 Nc6 $15) 10. b3 d5 {Black is aiming for the centre} 11. Bb2 {
Not very energetic but a consequence of b3 =+} d4 {
Closes the game from Blacks side.} (11... dxe4 12. dxe4 Qxd2 13. Nxd2 Ba6 {
and black has a clear advantage}) 12. Ne2 Bb7 13. c3 {
This is a move I like, white is reattacking blacks frozen centre.} Qd7 14. a3 {
Preventive move against Nb4 after a potential capture in the centre. Not amust.
} Rfd8 15. cxd4 cxd4 16. Rac1 Rac8 $14 17. Rc4 a6 18. Rfc1 a5 19. R4c2 Ba6 20.
Ng5 b5 21. e5 $1 $16 {Exploits the non attacking of the Ng5 completely.} a4 22.
bxa4 bxa4 23. Ne4 Nb8 (23... Nd5 24. Nc5 Qa7 $18) 24. Nc5 Qe8 25. Nxd4 Nf5 26.

Kh1 Nd7 33. Qc7 Rf8 34. Qxb6 Nxb6 35. Bd4 Nd7 36. Rc7 Rd8 37. e6 $1 $18 {
An interesting move in a boring position after all} Bxd4 38. exd7 $2 {
A terrible way to go for the win, especially in a rook and an opposiite bishop
endgame. The match is unnecessarily taking longer then it should.} (38. e7 $1
Rb8 39. Bb7 $18) 38... Kg7 $18 39. Bc6 Kf6 40. Rc8 Bb6 41. Bxa4 Ke6 {White own
score dropped from +2.9 to 1.8 and the chances for a draw are increasing !
Mephisto surely made a wring endgame judgement, and Fritz is doing what he is
supposed to do, using his King as a piece and holding d7.} 42. Rc6 Bd4 {
Fritz 1 disadvantage dropped from -1,7 to -0,91 in his own opinion, so is
aware of the issues for white to win the game. despite being 2 pawns down.} 43.
Bb5 Kd5 (43... Rxd7 $4 44. Bc4+) 44. Rc8 Bf6 (44... Bb6 {
Better place then Bf6, to hold the a pawn}) 45. a4 Kxd6 46. a5 Ke7 47. a6 $4 {
Another example of selective search...} (47. Rc4 {Blocks Bd4 and as the black
rook can't play Ra8 cause Rc8, this is again a missed opportunity to quickly
win the endgame.}) 47... Bd4 48. Rc7 Kd6 49. Rb7 h6 50. a7 Ke7 (50... h5 $4 51.
Rb8) 51. Kg2 Bc5 52. h3 {As you can see, the position is frozen, now the slow
job of involving the kingside is on its way...drawish to me....} Be3 53. Kf3
Bg1 54. Ba4 {A desperate ? uninspired ? move ?} Bc5 55. Bb3 f6 56. Bg8 $1 g5 (
56... Bxa7 $2 57. Rxa7 Rxg8 58. d8=Q+ Kxd8 59. Ra8+) (56... Rxg8 $4 57. d8=Q+
Kxd8 58. a8=Q#) 57. Bh7 h5 58. Bxf5 h4 59. gxh4 gxh4 60. Be4 Bg1 61. Kg4 Bf2
62. f5 Rg8+ 63. Kf3 Bxa7 64. Rxa7 1-0
Underneath another rather disappointing game from Conny & Fritz 1.
The game is a very closed game (coming from the English Opening) and none of both seems to have any strategy
and just keep on moving pieces back and forth. Here you can see that TableComputers by all means have no strategical
backgrounds, its all about brute force calculations. But the Sky opens from the moment you open the position for tactics
thats how sensitive these devices can be... all of a sudden you are lost...
Underneath the moves.
You will quickly see I'm degraded to nothing more then a woodpusher as if they are playing with my feet with their
indecisive moves... I suppose you all had your moments that the game evolves for 10, 20 or even 30 moves balancing at the threefold repetition of moves (and a level position as well) but then all of a sudden unlocks ....

attacking plan of the game....whoooooaah. Still the position is that level
(flat) that a score of 0.00 is pretty much like it.} Ne8 {A first manoevre to
reposition the passive Knight. Is Fritz finally taking the game in hands ? as
the Conny is not in particular ressourceful in closed games} 22. Qe2 Nf6 {
Sad very Sad move, Fritz considers that move repetition is better than going
for f5} (22... f5 23. exf5 (23. Qd2 Nf6 {The night comes back on his outpost

Conny is avoiding the draw, Fritz isn't. Why ? White has the half open b- file
and black has nothing. So Black is say -0.3, so a draw is improving his
position, for white it would be lowering the score.} Qd7 {Black could play
Ne8-Nc7-b5 and white could post a rook , or 2 on e-file and play f4, or Play
Bg2 before to have the f-file in posession.} 32. Bf2 Qc7 33. Be3 Qd7 34. Rb3
Qe7 1/2-1/2 Draw by threefold Repetition of moves !
