Even if most often the manual writes about "lifting" a piece then "placing it on the desired square", there are also some instructions left about "pressing" a square, "pressing the relevant sensor squares", and also "Each square on the board is marked with a letter and a number" - which complies with the TCAII rather than the Proelium. Additional clues for most probably shared DNA...
