Yes, the version number is 2.1 in the program itself.
I can confirm it is Gideon 3.1 (a little bit newer revision of it since rom contents not 1:1 identical).
The text in the ROM says "Champion Madrid 1992" just like Gideon 3.1 and Mephisto Risc II.
Gideon 3.0 and the newer version of 2.1 have this text: "World Champion 1991,92"
