Hi Egbert,
I'm afraid: none...
Stockfish 14 NNUE:
Code:
+6.07/30 18.Bxh6 Nxc5 19.Bxg7 Nxd3 20.Bxf8 Kxf8 21.Qxd3 Qxb2 22.Re1 b5 23.Rh4 Nd5 24.Rh7 Bf6 25.Nh5 Bc3 26.Rd1 Bd7 27.Ng5 Be8 28.Qf3 Nf6 29.Rh8+ Ke7 30.Ng7 Qc2 31.Rxe8+ Rxe8 32.Nxe8 Kxe8 33.Qxc6+ Kf8 34.Rf1 Nd5 35.Qxb5 Kg7 36.Qb8 Qf5 37.Qg3 Qg6 38.h4
+5.96/30 18.Rc2 Qa4 19.Rc4 Qb5 20.Bxh6 Nxc5 21.Bxg7 Nxd3 22.Bxf8 Kxf8 23.Qxd3 Qxb2 24.Re1 b5 25.Rh4 Nd5 26.Rh7 Bf6 27.Nh5 Bc3 28.Rd1 Bd7 29.Ng5 Be8 30.Qf3 Nf6 31.Rh8+ Ke7 32.Ng7 Qc2 33.Rxe8+ Rxe8 34.Nxe8 Kxe8 35.Qxc6+ Kf8 36.Rf1 Nd5 37.Qxb5 Kg7 38.Qb8 Qf5 39.Qg3
The evalutation gap between Bxh6 and Rc2 is rather thin!
Cheers,
Eric
Hi Eric
The evaluation gap between Bxh6 and Rc2 says nothing because after
18.Rc2 Qa4 19.Rc4 Qb5 we have exactly the same position as before 18.Rc2
or 18.Bxh6. Stockfish and other engines have a tendency for such useless
transpositions of moves. In many cases the second best variation is therefore
of no use at all.
Kind regards
Kurt
