It's a paradox because the e-board is nothing new, and if it weren't for the chess.com logo/support, it would be lost among the others, and so it will gain popularity. But will it deliver quality?

in the FAQ of the Kickstarter campaign they say, Premium account is optional, so it should work without subscription
