Ja, wunderbar missverständlich formuliert; mit "Regeln" waren sicher Regeln im Umgang mit dem Roboterarm gemeint (z. B. abwarten, bis der Roboter seinen Zug beendet hat und sich wieder in der Ausgangsposition befindet o. ä.)

Aber wie blöd kann man denn sein, um zu erwarten, dass ein Kind sich immer daran hält? (vor allem im Eifer des Gefechts vergisst man sowas schnell)

years ago the company I worked in as an IT guy had an automated tape library in the data center. It was an early system based on an industrial robot moving along a rail; the robot arm could fetch a tape cartridge in rotating storage cells, then move towards one of several tape units to load it into. The moving robot weighted in the order of magnitude ~200kg and moved rather fast, it could easily kill a man. A wire netting cage prevented hazards; opening the door would shut the robot immediately down.

I would rather say they need a security system; such as photoelectric cells around the pincers and the moving arm; to emergency stop any move if anything enters the security area.
