Firmware update for the Millennium Exclusive
 

Hello all,

hope everyone is keeping well during this pandemic that seems to be everlasting! The UK where I live was due to come out of it on the 21st June, but this has now been delayed until the 19th July. At least it's likely to happen which is the main thing. Fingers are crossed that we all can come out of this before too much longer.

Anyway, to help cheer us up we have another firmware update for the Millennium Exclusive from the company that keep on giving! I have not installed it yet but it offers the following:

9 save game slots as per the TheKing element, very nice!

Instant take back of all game moves to the start or instant replay of all game moves to the last move.

LED's now flash highlighting the squares of theking and attacking piece when a check occurs.

Take back a move without having to press a button.

When the computer gives a hint, we can make a move without having to first press the RED button.

There is now an option to allow the computer to offer resignation or a draw.

I think these are some very nice additions to this machine.

Wenn ich das Anschreiben der Firma Millennium richtig verstanden habe, bezieht sich das Firmware-Update (Version D04) nur auf das Genius-Modul und nicht auf The King Element. Leider hatte ich bisher noch nicht die Zeit, das auszuprobieren. Gibt es schon jemand, der geupdatet hat und Auskunft geben kann?

If I understood the letter from Millennium correctly, the firmware update (version D04) only refers to the Genius module and not to The King Element. Unfortunately, I have not yet had the time to try it out. Is there already someone who has updated and can give information?

Yes, it is my understanding that this update is only for the ChessGenius. TheKing element already has two of these enhancements, the ability to resign and the saving of games in 1 of nine slots.

Hallo,

bei meinem King Element finde ich die Funktion nicht, dass es von sich aus aufgeben oder Remis anbieten kann. Beim Genius Modul gibt es dagegen die Funktion.

Ist das korrekt?

Welches ist die aktuellste Version der King Elements? Bei Millennium sagte man mir, es sei die Version 1.21. Bei mir ist jedoch schon 1.41 drauf.

Wie ist das bei anderen? Ist bei Euch beim King Element die Funktion "Aufgeben/Remis anbieten" vorhanden?

Hallo,

die aktuelle Version ist die genannte 1.41. Ganz genau The King 2.61/1.41.

Die Funktionen "Aufgabe" und "Remis anbieten" wurden in das Update integriert, d.h. der King kann während einer Partie Remis anbieten oder eben auch eine Partie aufgeben. Aber diese Funktion ist nicht wählbar. Wozu auch?

Möchte man eine Partie trotz Remis Angebot oder Aufgabe weiterspielen, so ist das jederzeit möglich.

Hat denn jemand schon mal erlebt, dass The King tatsichlich Remis angeboten hat oder aufgegeben hat?

Ich habe zum Test den King mehrfach gegen starke PC-Programme spielen lassen (ich selbst kann ihn leider nicht bezwingen). Aber egal ob ich ihn im Komfort- oder Experten-Modus spielen lassen habe, er hat nie aufgegeben und auch die schlechtesten Stellungen bis zum Matt weiter gespielt.

Kann es sein, dass die Funktion "Aufgeben/Remis anbieten" doch nicht funktioniert?

doch, die Geschichten funktionieren schon. Aber, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, nur auf den Elo- und Komfort-Stufen.

Ich habe es auch noch einmal live getestet.

Der King mit Schwarz spielte im 30.Zug Dd5-a2, ich antwortete mit 31.Tc1-c8. Woraufhin das Remisangebot erfolgte.

vielen Dank für die Mühe, die Du Dir mit den nachgespielten Partien gegeben hast!

Inzwischen konnte ich auch eine Augfabe des King auf einer der Komfortstufen nachstellen.

Es scheint wirklich so zu sein, dass die Funktion "Aufgeben / Remis anbieten" nicht auf allen Stufen aktiviert ist.
Zumindest wird in der Anleitung für den Komfort-Modus erwähnt, dass die Funktion "Aufgeben / Remis anbieten" auf der niedrigsten Spielstufe "Spiele & Siege" deaktiviert ist.

In der Anleitung für den Experten-Modus wird die Funktion erst gar nicht erwähnt.

Zumindest bin ich mir jetzt sicher, dass ich die aktuelle software Version auf dem King Modul installiert habe und auch alles so funktioniert, wie es sein sollte.
