Dedicated Chess Computer Tourney
 

Hello fellow Schachcomputer enthusiasts!

Over the past few months I have been testing a few CCs in an all play all tourney.

Initially it was going to be a small tournament for under 2000elo dedicated chess computers, but I decided to expand it a bit and try some stronger units as well.

So far we have 28 computers playing each other twice at game in 30 mins. The games are all played using the excellent CB-Emulator by Franz Huber. The ratings are from Eric Hallsworth superb Selective Search magazine issue 160 (it is the only one I have a hard copy of).

I have attached the PGN file to this post for you to peruse. I was surprised at the top candidate.

Interesting tournament. :) Surprising to see the Tasc R30 2.23 as winner with 43.5/54 and 2 points ahead of all other 27 computers.

Yes, it surprised me too. I thought that the Tasc Gideon or the London would lead. However the London is too fond of draws!

I find the clear lead of the Mephisto Nigel Short and Mephisto Milano over the Mephisto Polgar remarkable.

Yes, it was the only emulation available at the time. However I now see the GK2100 is available with the latest emulations. So watch this space!

Agreed. They are all close in rating but the Polgar seemed to struggle at this time control.
