Gut das das mal jemand reproduzieren kann. Ich dachte schon ich wäre bekloppt.
Ich starte eigentlich nie mess. Ich starte cb-emu.exe

Probier mal, das nvram für den T+T zu löschen - das befindet sich im Verzeichnis nvram\academytt (bzw. mit einem _1 oder _2 dahinter, wenn Du die Sprache auf Englisch oder Deutsch umgestellt hast).
Möglicherweise ist da ja so ein fehlerhafter Zustand gespeichert, in dem Du bei jedem Start wieder landest.

It seems to be a bug with nvram.
MessExtra works well at level 40/120 and no nvram file.
(version MessExtra : 46603 Ko, 27/09/25, 6dfe5d58f72e9f25534d9f610401def8938bd4379ce28b9c06 4002d4fa06fd15)
The nvram is exactly the RAM from 0 to 0x1fff when quitting MessExtra.
However, when I restart Mephisto Academy T+T/eng, the game and clock settings are reset (ie nvram doesn't work, problem on reading nvram ?).

PS : after a good night, I read academy.cpp file :
- nvram is ... all the RAM (8KB battery-backed RAM(TC5564APL-15))
- in void academy_state::academy(machine_config &config), we have : NVRAM(config, "nvram", nvram_device"::"DEFAULT_ALL_0) , so all the RAM is reset.
- Is it possible that the RAM structure is different between academy and academytt ?
