In the past, Eric Belot, alias Blitzchess (may he rest in peace), sent me this computer for repair. I reverse engineered it, sending the information to hap, but I was only able to make a partial dump of the EPROM because it was damaged.

So I'm trying to win this auction so that I can make a good romdump, and hap can finish the driver, and it will be emulated on MAME.

If anyone wants it afterwards, I promise to sell it to them for the same price; I don't want to keep it for myself.

But please, those of you who are MAME or CB-Emu contributors, don't bid too, because then we'll all end up driving the price up unnecessarily.

ps.- I would also appreciate it if any reader of this forum is crazy about this computer and is willing to make a very high bid, please let me know now so I can avoid wasting time and possibly money. I will withdraw from the auction, and if this person wants to, they can send me the computer later so I can dump the rom.

Yep... Thanks to those of you who (perhaps) decided not to bid so that I could win the auction. With currency exchange, import taxes and shipping, it cost me 120€ ...I think it's a good price because it's hard to find, and also hap has shared the payment with me. :)

We will soon have it on MAME and CB-Emu!

vielen Dank an Lars ('kamoj') und 'hap' für diese 3 neuen B&P-Versionen! :top:

Besonders interessant sind die zusätzlichen Features, die Lars in seine Version 25.2 eingebaut hat - genauere Infos dazu gibt's hier:

Etwas aufwändiger war der Einbau der Prototyp-Version, denn einerseits gab es da Änderungen im Treiber und außerdem mußte ich dafür auch das bup-Plugin etwa ändern, weil die Level-Einstellung etwas anders funktionert.
Ob allerdings dieser Prototyp die gleichen Level-Zeiten verwendet, kann ich nicht sagen, weil es für ihn natürlich kein Manual gibt.

Außerdem hab ich auch noch folgendes geändert:
1) die Partie-Protokollierung (in gamelog.pgn) gibt es jetzt auch für die Version 'MessNew',
2) und im SensorBoard-Interface kann man jetzt mit SHIFT+RESET angeben, daß die Engine mit Weiß beginnt, und zwar ohne daß dabei das Brett umgedreht wird (manche Geräte habe nämlich keine Option 'Brett drehen').
Das hat keinerlei Einfluß auf das Spiel, sondern es wird eben nur die Engine als 'White' in der Datei 'gamelog.pgn' eingetragen.
Bei CTRL+RESET passiert das ja auch bisher schon, aber dabei wird das Brett auch tatsächlich gedreht, und das mögen eben manche Engines nicht.

So, das war's nach längerer Zeit wieder mal - mal sehen, ob noch was kommt ... ;)

Halo Franz...

Ich habe bisher nur eine einzige Partie im Engine‑Vergleich unter Arena gespielt. Dabei ist in der neuen Version erneut das Zeitproblem(Time im Display) aufgetreten. Wie gesagt, es war erst ein Spiel, da ich jetzt los muss.

mit der 'neuen Version' meinst du wahrscheinlich 25.2?

Also dieses Problem tritt ja bei allen B&P/MM2-5/Rebel5-Versionen auf, aber das wird ja ohnehin im Plugin abgefragt, und bei 'Time' in der Anzeige wird eben ein zusätzliches CL gesendet, wodurch man trotzdem weiterspielen kann.

Ich hab das eben mal ausprobiert, aber auch nach langer Zeit (Zigaretten-Pause ;)) ist kein 'Time' erschienen, sondern es hat nur die LED für die Uhr (ganz links) geblinkt - ich weiß nicht, wie ich so eine 'Time'-Anzeige absichtlich provozieren könnte, daher kann ich auch nicht nach einer Lösung suchen.
