Is the program also written by Kaare Danielsen ? RadioShack Portable 1650L is a 100% clone of... ?
1650L is not HD6301V1.
PCB photos here, epoxy blob, but not enough pins for it to be a 6301. https://cbcc95.forumactif.org/t66-tandy-1650l Here it says Kaplan, and 68HC05 https://www.spacious-mind.com/html/portable_1650l.html |
Hello Hap,
The photo is not good, but I can count 40 pins, like the 6301V. I have a 1680L fast response, with I think the same microcontroller, but I can't play after power on. Cordially. |
Hello,
It seems that RS-1650L and RS-1680L has the same program (from reading manuals). Spacious-mind specifiy that RS-1680L has a 6301Y (https://www.spacious-ind.com/html/super_1680l.html) with a 8K ROM. However, as I wrote it before, its microcontroller (blob) has only 40 pins, the 6301Y has 64 pins and 16K ROM. The 1680L has 14 levels, plus special levels to checkmate and a "puzzle level" (large win more than 2 pawns), does the enpassant, stalemate, underpromotion during its search and recognize the draw by immediate threefold repetition : all of this seems to be difficult with only 4K. So definitly not a 6301V nor 6301Y : I think that RS-1650L and RS-1680L has effectively a 68HC05 with a 8K program. Cordially. |

Thanks a lot for all these valuable pieces of information !
Just another question about the RadioShack Portable 1750L (which I own)... is it (more or less) identical to RadioShack Portable 1650L ? Or a little bit stronger ? Probably with a program written by Julio Kaplan and Craig Barnes ? Regards Hans-Jürgen |
Re: AW: Mess Emulator für diverse Schachcomputer ist fertig!
Hello Hans-Jürgen
Seems to be a clone of RS-1680L, but it has 64 levels with differents mode (fun, beginners, aggressive, pratical, fixed deep, brute force, passive and normal), and problem level (> 2 pawns). See https://www.spacious-mind.com/html/portable_1750l.html and https://www.manualslib.com/manual/13...ack-1750l.html Cordially. |
Only 1 byte different when compared to the other dump. I don't know if the other dump is a small bugfix, or that it was a bad dump (changed byte is 0x10 <-> 0x0f, I'm giving more chance to bugfix). |

This is the same HD6301V1 chip that Mychess dumped, but since Sean already planned to do it, I decided to wait for him. https://i.imgur.com/A58EZ88.png |

https://www.schachcomputer.info/foru...ead.php?t=5539 http://www.chesscomputeruk.com/asset..._1_15_x_15.JPG Nochmals vielen Dank an alle, Sean Riddle, hap, Mychess, Franz! PS der Yeno 301 XL verwendet den HD6301X0, mit 192 Bytes RAM, ebenso wie Kittingers Alto / Accord.. |
