Hallo Franz,

ich habe diese Zusatz Datei mal getestet aber eine Hand kam bei mir leider nicht. Der Punkt war weg und der Novag hat seine Züge ausgeführt. Oder muss ich da in den Einstellungen noch etwas ändern?

also eigentlich müssen dafür keine Einstellungen geändert werden.

Wichtig sind nur folgende Punkte:
1) Es funktioniert nur mit der neuen MAME-Version, d.h. entweder im Unterverzeichnis 'MessNew' (falls Du noch das CB-Emu-Paket vom 31.8. benutzt), oder mit der Extra-Version 'Novag_Robot.zip', also im Verzeichnis 'MameUI245'.
2) Nach korrektem (und vollständigen!) Entpacken dieser Zusatz-Datei 'Robot_Layout.zip' muß im Unterverzeichnis 'artwork\chess' eine Datei 'hand.svg' vorhanden sein (zusätzlich zu den Figuren-Dateien), und im Unterverzeichnis 'artwork\robotadv' die Datei 'robotadv.lay'.

Falls das alles passt, dann müßte es eigentlich klappen - zur Kontrolle kannst Du aber auch nochmal im Enginefenster unter 'Options > Video' nachsehen, ob da auch tatsächlich 'External Artwork' angezeigt wird und auch ausgewählt ist.

genau so habe ich es auch gemacht. Aber in meinem Fall kommt da eben keine Hand. Stelle ich im Menu auf internal um erscheint wieder der Punkt. Seltsam...

jetzt hab ich die Ursache der fehlenden Hand gefunden! :)

Mein ursprüngliches 'Novag_Robot.zip' enthielt noch die erste Treiber-Version des Robot, und die hat sich inzwischen etwas geändert.
Das Layout mit der Hand hab ich aber schon mit der neuen Version gemacht, und das funktioniert wirklich mit der früheren Version nicht.

Ich hab jetzt nochmals eine neue 'Novag_Robot.zip' hochgeladen, wo auch das neue Artwork schon enthalten ist - also einfach nochmal herunterladen:

super Sache. Jetzt klappt es und man kann zwischen der Hand und dem kleinen roten Punkt hin- und herschalten...

Hi,
something that confused me for a while: to get the claw (whatever red dot or yellow hand) centered on the pieces it must grasp, you need to keep the default window size: there is no scaling applied to the claw position computation.

Usually I set the device property "start out maximized" to true (in the display tab of the properties); you need to either unset it, or once the window appears, reduce it to the default size (using the usual windows button or menu).

I don't understand!? :confused:

There are no problems at all, no matter if you've checked or unchecked "Run in a window", "Start out maximised" or switch to "Full Screen" in the engine window" - in all cases the dot/hand is positioned correctly on the board.
The scaling (also for the claw) is done automatically by MAME whenever the window size or position is changed in any way.

I posted something like this before. Let me remind you all that we are running low on chesscomputers that can still be emulated. Unless there's a breakthrough with dumping roms from internal MCUs (H8, SH1, HD6303, ...), and not counting rare tournament machines, or prototypes (eg. Omikron Bogol, or Boris Handroid).

I have designed a robotic claw instead of the hand :D
You can see it better in "Full Screen".

Ich habe statt der Hand eine Roboterklaue entworfen :D
Im „Vollbild“ sieht man es besser.
