Hi,

eine neue CB-Emu-Version ist online! :)

Sie enthält jetzt den lange und sehnsüchtig erwarteten Saitek Sparc, und zwar mit 2 Programmversionen (rev.512A/518).
Außerdem gibt's auch für den Fidelity Designer Mach III Master 2265 eine weiter ROM-Version.

Diesmal hat die Fertigstellung etwas länger gedauert, weil die Implementierung der neuen SparcLite-CPU in die ältere Mess-Version 0.220 doch ziemlich aufwändig war. Außerdem habe ich die beiden Sparc-Module wieder als eigene 'Geräte' (im Renaissance) eingebaut (wie auch schon bei den Analyst- und Maestro-Modulen), weil sie so wesentlich einfacher zu benutzen sind. Und natürlich waren auch die Plugins wieder anzupassen, weil beim Sparc die Levels bis H8 gehen (statt G8) - ich hoffe, es funktioniert alles richtig.

Vielen Dank wieder an 'hap' und Berger für die gute Arbeit.

Ich hatte nicht so schnell mit der neuen Version gerechnet, da du den Code ja leider wieder anpassen musstest.
Ich glaube bis auf das BF-Modul ist jetzt alles drin.
Wahnsinn!!!

Yes of course, but he is not here in our forum and I don't know him.
And then I would also have to thank all other MAME team members, which have emulated all other used CPUs in our chess emulations.
Well, I was already wondering that the Sparc module can also be used (and works!) in our Leonardo emulation, because I've read that it doesn't work in this board.

Maybe power supply related. The Sparc manual mentions an EMI PCB for Leonardo.
(electromechanical interference?)

The Galileo ROM program itself is compatible with Leonardo.

Electromagnetic interference.
But this does not have to be taken into account in an "ideal" system such as an emulation, only in real life where unfortunately the power supply we provide to our chess computer is not as "clean" as it should be. ;)

In the Schachcomputer.Info-Wiki there's a different reason described:
"Leonardo has only 7 address lines, but the Sparc module requires 8".

Yeah, electromagnetic, my hands didn't type what I wanted to.
Leonardo PCB has the 8 lines. I assume what they mean is the lines meant for communication with the module? I'm pretty sure Maestro/Analyst uses all 8 too, on top of ack/strobe/nmi.
