Hi Hans,
hmm, I used the "normal" tournament level 40/2 (and F3 on the Sparc, too). Maybe there is a difference in these levels?
I remember an old fellow from my chess club who owned a Mephisto Academy. He swore that the Level ELO-Aktiv was better than the 30 min blitz level. But he had to turn the ELO to 9000... :eek:
This evening I'll look at my software version. Maybe there's a difference to your's.

Hi Hans,

I just remembered to look at my software version:
I use version 1.2, with checksum A32A

However, I suppose that yours is the same and the difference is only an effect of different operating time. Maybe already seconds can have an effect.

PS: Why do you use the ELO level? Is it because you fear a slower speed when the processor has to display informations and handle button presses?

when u use the elo -level when you cant see info on display,the computer is on his special level (read in bedienungsanletung)and play on his best strenght,thats what it says by info,in bedienungsanleitung .this works also for the Academy and Polgar. best regards Hans

good opening from the sparc the risc was out of book after move7 the sparc was in book till move 12 ,but the sparc could finish the game quicker with the h pawn later in the game.

Hello , the (old) polgar played 2 good games vs the sparc ,pitty that the endgame from the polgar in the second game not has been brilijant ... otherwise it would been 2-0 for the polgar

Hello ,game 1 after the opening the Magellan -3.0 a book fault... but it was horrible to see how the magellan played all pieces bottom row.Max Euwe said once in a good position only good moves are possible,in a bad position only bad moves. game2 i thought the magellan would win the game when i did look at the position after 35 moves,but after move 37 from white no comment .... again the Tasc R30 did what make him so famous:vogel: greetings Hans
