Übrigens, falls Du es testen willst - hier ist die Stellung Deiner geposteten Partie nach dem Zug 57:

Wenn Du nun 58. g8=Q eingibst, dann funktioniert jetzt die Unterverwandlung in einen Springer (58... c1=N) beim Lyon und Konsorten korrekt.

Hallo Franz...

Es gibt ein kleines Problem bei den Conchess Modellen. Auch sie vergessen ihre Leveleinstellung wenn man ein Turnier in der MessEmu unter Arena spielt.
Allerdings nur wenn eine Random EPS Stellung geladen wird . Bei einer Random
PGN gab es dieses Problem nicht.

Geprüft mit Stefan Pohl´s
SuperGM_4ms .EPD
SuperGM_4ms .PGN

Diese Datenbanken sind für mich sehr nützlich, weil sie die Wiederholung von Partien bei Engine Duellen vermeiden.

Ich bin auch der Meinung, dass die EPD eine bessere Wahl ist, weil sie von vielen Schachprogrammen unter ChessEmu unterstützt wird.

Hallo Mark,
ja, da hast Du wieder mal ein ganz spezielles Problem bei den Conchess-Modellen entdeckt!
Laut Handbuch sind 4 Tasten zu drücken, um den Conchess in den Setup-Modus zu vesetzen und das Brett zu leeren, aber bereits die ersten beiden Tasten bewirken, daß er auch seinen Level auf den Standardwert (P2 oder L2) zurücksetzt!

Ich lasse ihn also jetzt im Plugin nach Beendigung des Setup-Modus den aktuellen Level nochmals extra einstellen (2 zusätzliche Zeilen).
Das neue Plugin (conc.lua) habe ich jetzt zu den vor einigen Tagen bereits geänderten Plugins noch hinzugefügt -
das aktuelle Plugin_Update ist im Anhang!
(Diese Änderung in 'conc.lua' gilt übrigens automatisch auch für alle anderen Conchess-Modelle)

Edit: Beim Plugin 'conc.lua' war nochmals eine kleine Änderung nötig!

Ich hoffe Du hast den Anhang erst nach meinem Edit heruntergeladen?
In der ersten Version konnte es nämlich noch zu einer Level-Änderung zwischen fixem und blinkendem LED kommen (wieder so ein Conchess-Murks ;))

Sean, hap and myself are doing a study of H8 microcontrollers used in chess computers. We have a lot of them identified, but we're still missing quite a lot.

interesting idea. I have some of these devices. I think it should be ok, if you have ONE picture/MCU-Code of every device in your list? Or do you expect to find different MCU in devices of identical series?

Hello Andreas,

In that list are the chess computers, with Hitachi H8 microcontroller, of which we don't yet have a picture of the microcontroller.

Most of these H8 microcontrollers include a "ROM serial" in the part number, in the same way as the Hitachi HD6301 family. At the moment our main interest is to document it, because there are chess computer models that have exactly the same microcontroller (with the same internal ROM) as for example Saitek Centurion, Cosmos, Cougar, etc.

Thank you, Gerardo, and yes I know that different devices can have same MCU from my own experience.

So I think one sample of each device will be sufficient.

Maybe we can save a lot of work when we tell IN ADVANCE which device we will going to open to get the informations you need...

I can provide you with information on the following devices within next days:
Schachakademie = TCA
Mystery
Centurion
Chess Challenger (should be identical to Centurion, is not in your list above)
Virtuoso

So no one else need to open these devices.

Today I have removed 3 or 4 models from the posted list, of which I have already received photos. In the next days, as I won't be able to edit the post anymore, I will write a new post with the updated list (with less models therefore).

By the way, I am not asking you to open your chess computers. In many cases the motherboard is upside down, and it is not possible to see the microcontroller without disassembling everything and disconnecting the sensory board, which I do not recommend if you are not experienced. What I was asking for was to receive those photos that are already done, as there are certainly some. :D

The MCU label I'm more interested in than others at the moment is Saitek Prisma, I want to know for sure it's the same as RadioShack 2150L.

Tibono has sent me some more photos. I have updated the list again, removing those computers for which we already have pictures of their MCU:

Anyway, you can send me any picture of Hitachi H8 MCU, even if it is not in the list (indicating which chess computer it belongs to please, not pictures made by others and downloaded from the internet). This is because some chess computer models were assembled with not always the same MCU model, as is the case of Novag Aquamarine RISC II 26.6MHz.

Hi,
danke an 'hap' und Berger für dieses neue Gerät!

Ich habe jetzt ein neues CB-Emu mit diesem Turbo S-24K hochgeladen.
Da es mir vor ein paar Tagen auch gelungen ist, den Saitek Backgammon in meine alte MAME-Version 0.220 einzubauen, ist derzeit dieses neue 'MessNew' nicht mehr nötig, daher habe ich es in der heutigen Version vorübergehend entfernt. Es wird erst mit dem nächsten Gerät (Saitek Prisma) wieder notwendig, denn die H8-Modelle lassen sich nicht mehr in die Version 0.220 zurück portieren. Allerdings wird das noch etwas dauern, denn 'hap' arbeitet derzeit immer noch an den H8-Treibern.

Mephisto Excalibur ist nicht emuliert. Keine ROM dumps vorhanden bedeutet keine emulator.

Saitek Prisma und GK 2000 sind emuliert, danke an Sean Riddle fur ROM dumps. Beiden sind H8 MCU.
So yes, it means H8/325 is possible to dump, hopefully newer H8 MCUs as well, such as H8S series.
