I question Chessgenius 1 and 3 and Fritz 3 (but you dont show Fritz 3) and any version beyond M-Chess 3.5. None of these work on any of my 80286 computers. Regards, Nick |

Hello spacious_mind
You're right, I read the manual ChessGenius 1-2-3-4-5 DOS and Fritz 3 are written in assembly language 386/486 to go faster so do not work in 80286, I have to see if some version Rebel can run on 80286, does not operate any program Rebel on your machine then MchessPro 3.5 +2050 Elo is with the strongest program on your machine. Regards..... |

Re: Schachspielen mit ein 286er 12 MHz Laptop
Hi.
A shame they do not work the Rebel program, an exciting program for your machine would be the ChessMaster 3000 by Dave Kittinger (based on Novag Expert) this program has the full PSH system and plays really well on an 80286 has a power rating of +1825 Elo (is like having a Novag Expert) https://www.schach-computer.info/wik...llation_Expert Anyway I am very interested to see performance that Novag Obsidian as seen from the results exceed +2000 Elo... I also think you can use the tournament level TR with the Novag Obsidian. Regards spacious_mind Geändert von GK3000 (14.03.2011 um 15:05 Uhr) |

I used to play it a lot and I was happy back then because I could still beat the chess programs more than they could beat me. I did not know though that it might work under DOS becasue I thought it was a Windows 3.11 program? If it does work under DOS on a 80286 then I will certainly try and include it into my tests. Best regards, Nick |
