Wie stark ist der Mephisto Montreux ?
Hallo zusammen,

der Nachfolger des Risc 2500 ist ja nicht so häufig anzutreffen und wenn er denn mal bei einer WM mit dabei ist, sind die Ergebnisse meist nicht so berauschend.
Da er auch in unserer Aktivschach-Eloliste noch einige Partien verkraften kann, habe ich mich entschlossen, ihn mal einem kleinen Härtetest zu unterziehen.

Ein weiteres Thema, was mich auch interessiert, sind immer noch die verschiedenen Spielstile, die der Risc und der Montreux zu bieten haben. Mit dem Risc 2500
habe ich jetzt in der abgeschlossenen A-Liga und auch in der jetztigen WM mit dem Spielstil "normal" gespielt und bin mit den Ergebnissen mehr als zufrieden,
Ergebnisse aus Stellungstests hin oder her. Der simple Gedanke, der dahinter steckt, ist schlichtweg, warum ein Programm, das von "Natur" aus schon aktiv/aggressiv spielt,
noch aggressiver einstellen ?? Wie gesagt, bisher sind die Ergebnisse sehr gut, auch wenn es nur wenige Partien sind.

In diesem Zusammenhang ist mit ein Unterschied gleich aufgefallen, der Risc 2500 hat in der Grundeinstellung den Spielstil "normal" voreingestellt, während es beim Montreux
der Spielstil "aktiv" ist. Die Turnierbibliothek des Montreux scheint im Vergleich zum Risc 2500 noch eingeschränkter zu sein, bei den 10 Partien wäre es zu zwei Dubletten gekommen, allerdings scheint
die Bibliothek sehr gut auf die Spielweise des Montreux abgestimmt zu sein und das mit teilweise sehr ungewöhnlichen Varianten (z. B. Partie 10).

Im ersten Zweikampf gegen den Atlanta 32 MHz zeigt der Montreux auch deutlich, dass nicht nur aktiv eingestellt ist, sondern auch gespielt wird.
Ich habe selten einen so unterhaltsamen und spannenden Zweikampf zwischen zwei Schachcomptern gespielt und mitverfolgt, langweilig war nicht eine einzige Partie.

Geplant sind weitere 10 Partien gegen den Atlanta 32 MHz, diesmal mit dem Spielstil "normal", ich bin sehr gespannt, wie diese Partien aussehen und ausgehen.

AW: Wie stark ist der Mephisto Montreux ?
Hallo zusammen,

inzwischen sind die nächsten 10 Partien zwischen Montreux und Atlanta gespielt worden, vorgesehen war ja urspünglich, dass der
Montreux diese 10 Partien mit Spielstil "normal" absolviert, aber nachdem es nach 5 Partien 4 zu 1 für den Atlanta stand, habe ich entschieden,
wieder zum Spielstil "aktiv" zurück zu wechseln.

Natürlich sind das nur wenige Partien, aber während man die Partien spielt, bekommt man schon ein wenig das "Gefühl" für die Spielweise eines Gerätes.
Mein (subjektiver) Eindruck ist, dass der Montreux mit Einstellung "normal" anfängt, ich nenn's mal rumzueiern, kommt in Vorteil, verspielt diesen wieder,
kommt nochmals in Vorteil und vertändelt diesen erneut, um letztendlich die Partie noch zu verlieren.

Meiner Meinung nach ist beim Montreux die (Grundeinstellung) "aktiv" besser als "normal" und wenn man die Historie der King-Versionen von Version 0.5
angefangen betrachtet, sind diese in ihrer weiteren Entwicklung auch immer mehr "entschärft" worden. Von daher ist es in meinen Augen durchaus sinnvoll,
späteren Versionen ein wenig die Sporen zu geben (Montreux Grundeinstellung "aktiv") und früheren Versionen (Risc 2500 Grundeinstellung "normal") etwas die Zügel anzulegen.

Soweit meine Theorie, für die ich natürlich keine handfesten Beweise habe

Meiner Einschätzung nach ist der Montreux dem Atlanta 32 MHz zumindest ebenbürtig, vielleicht sogar einen Tick stärker, zumindest macht
er auf mich den Eindruck, dass er etwas besser weiss, was er tut (menschlich ausgedrückt ).
