Hallo !
I received few days ago a newcomer into my collection, CP 2000 (mains adaptor being Novag labelled).
CPU speed is a bit unsure (related webpages display either 1,78 or 2 Mhz; user manual displays 2.000.000 operations/s - I guess operations not to be instructions, a F8 is not RISC, so might well mean 2Mhz).
I performed a check comparing the hardware device to the emu, as pace is usually very accurate in the emu, and speed setting known - here the emu is set by design to 2Mhz without configuration option to change it.
Using lv6 (2 to 20 minutes) to get a sufficient thinking time, first moves a3 d5 Nf3, then:
emu@2Mhz: Nc6 4min 40.7s = 280.7s
cp2k@?Mhz: Nc6 3min 17.3s = 197.3s
If emu pace is correctly implemented, would lead to ?Mhz = 2.85Mhz
which would not comply with F8 3850 capability (according to relevant CPU webpages, from 1 to 1,79Mhz or 1 to 2Mhz).
I point out my hardware device is always, regularly, any time & any move, faster than the emu - not a singularity from the measured test. The beep is higher tone as well.
I would much appreciate some device owner(s) to perform same or so comparison, and report in this thread the result they get! Or, without need for the emu, perform the very same few moves and report their own hardware's time for Nc6.
Danke sehr!
Gruß
Eric
