Was ich ein wenig schade finde ist, dass wir die letzten Produkte Ron Nelsons von Excalibur nicht in repräsentativem Holz vorliegen haben. Den Grandmaster könnte man ja mal in ein Holzschachbrett umbauen. Oder auch die kleineren Plastikgeräte wie Igor oder Ivan.

Aus meiner Sicht würde das dem ja gar nicht so schlecht spielenden Gerät gut tun.

Vielleicht bastel ich da selber mal eine Art Citrine oder Ähnliches .
Denn die Citrine ist ja auch so ein umgebauter Drucksensorbrett Kasten. Erkennbar daran wie man „schlägt“. Auch der GM schlägt ja wie ein Drucksensorbrett.

Ron said himself that he wasn't really interested in expensive wooden chess computers but prefered designing cheaper plastic ones for the masses. He said that Sid was the guy who always pushed for new expensive wooden boards.

I once asked Ron why Excalibur only used a LCD to display the computers moves and never used LEDs around the board. He said that it was all to do with keeping the cost down.

We can tune the old plasti machines.
If Waldburger in Switzerland (Pewatronic) is able to make wooden machines out of saitek plastic machines (explorer in wood) i can do similar.

I go to my local carpenter and together we can do it with Ron Nelson too.
