So einige Fehler konnte dar in stehen
ADFINDER ChessEval

ADFINDER Chess Eval
By Dr. Prof. M.Ohayon
I have since a while contact with Dr.Prof. M.Ohayon
from U.S.A where did become very closed friends as I can say
Once he told me he was building a self made Chess Computer and did let me see a Picture , this was Prototype nr 1 ChessEval Sargon 4.0 20MHz .23 Inch Big so bigger the the Prestige
Where come the name from? Well the creator has also written a own chess program >ChessEval so the name was easily taken .
The PCB Sargon did come from Steve Braid from U.K and the relation between these 2 persons Dr.Prof. M.Ohayon and Steve Braid go way back . In fact they are a good couple because they are helping each other out with the PCB,s now available.
The creation of ChessEval is based on the Prestige model ,but nothing is taken from a Prestige the ChessEval is 100% complete self build.
The board is 2cm thick ,so every hole for a led is hand drilled ,so 1 mistake and the board is useless .The Leds are 1mm ore less, this is never been done.
Dr.Prof.M.Ohayon has developed these leds himself.
U can think how long this take to do 81 leds.
Also these 81 leds is a own creation ,so he did not look at a Tasc ,but build a complete own system
The PCB of the Sargon was connected by a special PCB under the control panel , these PCB where created himself ,in fact the layout is fully done by Dr.Prof.M.Ohayon and he did let them make by a company in Malaysia ,so the PCB have to communicate with the PCB of the Program
Now the next challenge was to put the signs on the beside the control buttons, this was a massive job taking time
After the first release of Prototype 1 ,nr 2 is build ,better more new idea,s like display,s ,better buttons
and so on.
The 2th prototype is a ChessEval V9 33 MHz with 2 displays
This was a different story, because Steve Braid PCB was based on 1 display... so also here a new PCB was created to communicate with the 2th display, the V9 PCB and the Control Panel PCB , this did cost much time ,and 2 complete new designs of the control PCB
Also many difficulty,s with building in the displays
the 1th PCB for the Display was not expected as hoping for ,so again a new PCB was created , finally with success now,and the V9 was ready.
I was in the honor to have the V9 as to test it ,and try to give in improvements for the next one
Prototype nr 3 is a V10 68040 on 66MHz
1 .Improved Display
2.Leds in the board ,ore better say the drilling
3 Control buttons better
4 better lettering on the control panel buttons
5 also again 2 new better communicate PCB,s
6 cooling the 68040 proccesor
7 special power supply
The final result of the V10 is very beautiful.
There is always room for improvements ,and also new idea,s are born
with the latest PCB for ChessEval any PCB of Steve Braid can put in ,also older ones from Fidelity
The system is very stable .
Also here I have the honor to test it and keep this one as a gift
Nightmare
The Customs ore Post company did open The V9 and V10 ….
by the Last it was a true disaster when I received it
the Wood below the board, screws where out ,1 corner was complete loose , nut where lose from PCB and also some cable inside where lose,on the surface the board have some dent in it, they did rough with it
I was glad that I could restore the V10 myself ,and proudly could present it in Leiden
This is a hobby project and never will be released/build in order for someone
The time of Dr.Prof M.Ohayon is precious and he did take long time to create his ChessEval prototype,s
In fact 3 are build now and maybe he will do 1 ore 2 more ore not.
Also the fact of development cost and time of building
the computer would to be to much expensive!
So please do not ask for buy ore building one ,because I can give u already the answer > NO SORRY
Written with aprovement Dr.Prof.M.Ohayon

These foto,s are the ChessEval Sargon 4.0 20MHz
