Kann mir jemand möglichst einfach erklären wie ich den CB Emu pro und Arena Installieren muss damit ich von Arena aus mit den Engins des CB Emu
Spielen kann ?.Meine versuche waren bis jetzt leider erfolglos.

also da gibt's nichts zu installieren - im CB-Emu-Paket ist alles bereits vorinstalliert und konfiguriert!

Einfach die Datei CB-Emu_Pro.zip irgendwohin entpacken, danach gehst Du ins Verzeichnis CB-Emu.
Willst Du direkt mit den Geräten spielen, dann einfach CB-Emu starten - das erfordert allerdings gewisse Kenntnisse der Bedienung dieser Schachcomputer.

Wenn Du lieber die Engines mit Arena benutzt, dann am besten mit dem bereits mitgelieferten Arena - hier sind alle Engines schon installiert.
Dazu einfach ins Unterverzeichnis MessChess\Arena gehen und Arena starten, danach die gewünschte Engine auswählen, und schon kann es losgehen.
Ich hoffe, ich muß nicht auch noch die Bedienung von Arena erklären!?

I don't know if you have already discovered it, but on the Russian website the 3 ROMs of the Elektronika IM-05 have been added:

I tried to use these 3 ROMs in the IM-01T driver (I've only extended the ROM area and definitions), and it actually starts - only the LEDs and the keyboard seem to be coded differently, so of course it's not yet really usable.

Yeah, it looks playable. I'm a bit surprised, since:
IM-01: К1801ВМ1 CPU, K1809BB1 I/O chip
IM-05: К1801ВМ2 CPU, К1573ХМ1 I/O chip

I guess they are similar from black-box perspective.

The buttons:

Реж = режима, mode, PL=play, DP=?, BO=board setup.
СД looks like a cancel key, for example you can break out of chess calculations.
The circle with arrow-down looks like a confirm key, when setting level or when placing a piece in setup mode.
CТА = enter move
Arrow-right = go forward (after Take Back)
ПХ = hint
Р = Promotion (hold this key, press 1-6 when promoting a pawn)

I guess the different I/O chip is the reason for the crippled LEDs?

That's still my main problem, I've tried some different orders for 'bitswap' in update_display(), but there are just too many possibilities for a trial-and-error method.
Could you tell me the correct order?

And the buttons also seem to have port bits in reversed order within each 'IN.x'.

Yes, it is bitswap<8>(data,0,1,6,4,2,3,5,7);
And IRQ is faster, around 500hz

Unfortunately your 'simpler implementation' for the im05 doesn't work in MAME 0.220 - the functions m_display->write_mx/my in pwm.h are not compatible with the old pwm version.

Also just adding these declarations to pwm.h didn't work, it would also require some other changes, but that's no option for me, because then almost all other drivers (which require pwm) won't work anymore.

Is there any simple replacement for these 2 functions m_display->write_mx/m in your updated im01 driver, that would also work with the old pwm version?
If not, then I'll stuck with your previous im01 driver and layout ...
