Hi Franz
Once the SPARC module appears in CB-Emu, you can then gracefully retire. I know that I have said it more than once but thank you and everyone involved with this amazing project. Best regards from England Bryan |

Don't get too excited yet. The standalone chessboard needs to work first, and right now I'm getting program lockups in the Leonardo driver.

- SciSys Junior Chess - SciSys Graduate Chess - SciSys Chess Partner 3000 - SciSys Chess Partner 4000 Wieder danke an Sean Riddle fur ROM dump. |

AW: Re: Mess Emulator für diverse Schachcomputer ist fertig!
Hi Michael,
interesting news Mini, Junior and Graduate are nown as clones (all have 2 Levels with a mechanical switch). CP3000 has 8 Levels and CP4000 12 Levels by mechanical switches - how did they do it with the same ROM? Are the switches fakes (all result in only 2 positions)? If not, they must still have planned the later versions with more levels - and then it should be possible to extend the older items with more levels by changing the switches... Regards Achim |

The game keeps checking the 1-bit level switch while it's calculating its next move. On CP3000 PCB photos, the level slider is still connected to that single MCU pin. They must have added an oscillating circuit on the level slider.
So, level 8 on CP3000 will be as strong as level 2 on Mini Chess(disregarding possibility that CP3000 CPU is higher clock freq) and on let's say level 4, the actual level is "2" 50% of the time, and "1" 50% of the time. Some unrelated corrections to emulation I might as well mention here: Mephisto Almeria until Vancouver, and Berlin too, are 12.288MHz, not 12.0MHz. Novag Super Expert C that was thought to be version 1.2 is actually 3.0. |

I would like to see the LED test of the keypad during power-on, and also want to hear the sound beeps. I don't need to see the chessboard, just the keypad. |

Ich habe jetzt ein video recording, danke!
Ok, I was sent a video recording. For anyone else that has read the previous message and was also going to record a video, thank you, but it's not needed anymore =) |

AW: Re: Mess Emulator für diverse Schachcomputer ist fertig!
Hi,
I opened a CP3000 and found a scalable resistor from 3 ohm (pos. 1) to 100k ohm (pos. 8), two wires to the circuit - one connected directly to a cpu pin, the other to some connected resistors/capacitators. The calculation time of the levels is equal between mini and 3000 at lev 1 (about 4 sec.). Mini has max-time of 15 sec. at lev two and 3000 20 sec at lev 8. CP4000 has also a max-time of 20 sec. at lev. 12. So the only remaining question is the difference between the highest level 2 (5 to 15 sec.) of the mini-clones and the max-level of the 3000/4000 of 5-20 sec. - if the manuals are correct... Very similar are CP5000 and CP6000, that are clones of Travel Mate/Travel Sensor Chess - these items have 4 Levels from 7 sec. avarage at L1 und 54 sec. av. at L4. Difference are sensor recognition of figures, so it is a different rom, but perhaps the engine is the same at a different speed? Regards Achim The game keeps checking the 1-bit level switch while it's calculating its next move. On CP3000 PCB photos, the level slider is still connected to that single MCU pin. Geändert von achimp (03.05.2020 um 13:43 Uhr) Grund: added calculation time and silimarity to other scisys items |
