Hi Sargon! (btw Sargon-5 was my favorite DOS program - played so crazy fun chess)

For me its still strange to see how GK2100 crushes Milano so easy because they are rated very close to each other...

Next tourney will be played at 1hour/game with main opening lines exept Spanish for TK, so I hope for it will show better result. Also the competition will be kind of "handicap": H8-based devices will stay to have 30min per game!

The Milano program includes more chess knowledge than the GK 2100 program, especially in endgames and chess strategy. The Milano is weaker in chess tactics than the GK2100 and needs more time to work with his knowledge. Let them play several games on the tournament level (2 hours/40 moves) and you will get a different result.

Hallo!

Yes, of course, I know about it, and H8/10Mhz is x2 times faster than 6502/5Mhz also; I only wonder because they are near each other in ACTIVE-chess rating-list, not only in 2h/40... So lets wait for their next meeting at handicap tourney.

Some of this is because Morsch is the author. His null-move innovation only made it into his own programs before the dedicated market collapsed and development of new engines halted. Morsch's programs thus get through the first 6 iterations very quickly. I found the Cosmos (same program as GK2100) even beats the Sapphire II at speed levels, despite a nominal 100 point elo disadvantage at Active time controls, and the 10 MHz vs 32 MHz speed handicap!

Also Im planning to re-play TurboKing's matches with handicap time control (by giving it 60min per game vs 30min for its opponents) because of it's awful results. This way it will be sort of "modul D+ 10Mhz emulation" and more intersting, I hope...

RS2250 - Scorpio => 6.5 : 3.5

As you can see Gk2100 got a bit better result in every match against the same opponents than RS2250, so for their duel I think that GK2100 must win with a score around 6 : 4 ...
