Self playing (made no sense for me).
Using for chess computer - chess computer matches (made no sense for me).

Suppose someone gives me a simple Fuji compact camera. Though it can take nice pictures, I won’t use it and I’ll have the same options as you with the Centaur.
Off topic, viewing Kodachrome slides from the 80’s, when silver wasn’t an issue in the chemicals and colours were fantastic. Great nostalgia.
I started with Olympus, OM1 and 2. Since then Nikon. But of course the AE1 is legend!
Finally, I bought the Centaur Just for fun, recreational chess. If in a few months I must admit that it was the wrong choise, then I will replace it for the Performance, or maybe for an other model that you recommend me.
