Seit einiger Zeit befindet sich eine Turniermaschine Roma in meinem Besitz.
Als sie hier eintraf, war der Zustand denkbar schlecht. Ein klaffender Spalt links der Schublade, recht trübe Oberfläche, verschmutzte Figuren und: Holzwurmbefall!
Dank der magischen Fähigkeiten unseres Forumsmitgliedes Fleischhacker1953 befindet sich das Gerät nun im Bestzustand:

Im Grunde handelt es sich um ein Münchenbrett, bei dem der modulare Aufbau auch belassen wurde. Im Unterschied zu einem "normalen" Roma ist hier der 68020 mit 25MHz getaktet. Das Netzteil ist in das Brett integriert und auf die Aluminiumabdeckung der Unterseite geschraubt.
Ebenfalls an der Unterseite sind die Auslässe von zwei Ventilatoren, die im Gegensatz zur TM Almeria eher für ein dezentes Hintergrundgeräusch sorgen. Um die gute Durchlüftung zu gewährleisten, stand die Maschine auf erhöht zwei Kieferleisten. Während der Restauration wurden diese durch farblich passende Holzleisten ersetzt.
Ich habe vor, die TM Roma intensiv im Aktivschach zu testen. Im Vergleich zum normalen Roma 68020 erwarte ich eine Elo zwischen 2100 und 2150 auf unserer Liste. Der erste Gegner war der Novag Diablo in einem kleinen Match über zwölf Partien.

Insgesamt ein sehr spannender Wettkampf, den die TM Roma deutlich gewonnen hat. Nach dem Verlauf der ersten Partie wäre dies nicht unbedingt zu vermuten gewesen.
