We/our generation were blessed with marveling at the rise of chess computers and early chess programs; and we now can enjoy the full range of these using either collected devices or emulators. Back in time the luckyest ones might have owned a couple of chess computers, maybe a microcomputer and therefore some/few compatible chess programs... Today using DosBox, QEmu, emulators for Sinclair, TRS, Amiga, Commodore, Amstrad, MSX, Sega, Thomson and more, not to forget MAME/CB-Emu of course, we can discover all this world then out of reach. And appreciate this discovery with the same amazed eyes we had back in time.
Youngsters can't really appreciate the same, to their eyes this can just be obsolete, weak has-been software and hardware. The magic vanished.
It is such a chance for us to have grown with...
