First. I do believe there is a design fault when a device is running out of power while on external power supply. The power drain is higher then the standard USB chargers can provide.

What you can do is to use a PD (Power delivery) compatible USB-C charger so you can push 18W instead of the standard 5W to EVO.

Hopefully that will prevent the battery from draining while it is on charge and
analyzing a position at the same time.
