just pointing out this is a concern only for one-to-one matches featuring many enough games to reproduce duplicates.

Which is not so good for overall strength assessment, anyway. To my humble opinion, large one-to-one matches should not be included into the Elo calculation. Of course they remain interesting and fun; on another hand Elo estimation should be built using a large enough, balanced panel of opponents.
