der absolute Oberhammer, was man einfach nicht wahr haben will: 64. Sg1 ???, also dafür gibt es einfach keine sinnvollen Worte mehr.
Hi Christian,
I agree Nxf4+ strikes human eyes, but complete calculation is not that clear. To check it, I ran Stockfish 16 without NNUE, using classic Stockfish evaluation (an available UCI setting of this engine).
Here are the first computing steps:
Code:
0:07/35, 1/14: 64.Nxf4+, 55,6M nodes (6,9M nps), 128MB hash, 2 threads
0:00: +0.36/1 64.Nxf4+ Kc4
0:00: -0.08/2 64.Nxf4+ Ke4
0:00: +0.13/3 64.Kd7
0:00: +0.04/4 64.Nxf4+ Ke4 65.Ne2 Kd3
0:00: +0.31/5 64.Nxf4+ Ke5 65.Ne2
0:00: +0.04/6 64.Kb6 Ke4 65.Kc5 Ke5 66.Kc4 Ke4
0:00: +0.07/7 64.Nxf4+ Ke4 65.Ne2 Kd3 66.Ng1
0:00: +0.08/8 64.Nxf4+ Ke4 65.Ne2 Kd3 66.Ng1 Kd4 67.Nf3+ Ke4
0:00: +0.13/9 64.Nxf4+ Ke4 65.Ne2 Kd3 66.Ng1 e2 67.Nxe2 Kxe2 68.Kd6
0:00: +0.17/10 64.Nxf4+ Ke4 65.Ne2 Kd3 66.Ng1 e2 67.Nf3 Ke3 68.Kd6 Kf2 69.Ke5
0:00: +0.15/11 64.Nxf4+ Ke4 65.Ne2 Kd3 66.Ng1 e2 67.Nxe2 Kxe2 68.Kd6 Ke3 69.Ke5 Kf2 70.Ke6 Kxg2
As you may read, the score doesn't rise fast along with depth; only +0.15 at depth 11.
+1 score is only reached at depth 27.
Code:
0:00: +1.00/27 64.Nxf4+ Ke5 65.Ne2 Kf5 66.Kd6 Kg4 67.Ke6 Kg5 68.Ke5 Kxh5 69.Kf5 Kh4 70.Kf4 Kh5 71.Ng3+ Kg6 72.Kxe3 Kg5 73.Kf3 g6 74.Ne4+ Kf5 75.Nd6+ Ke6 76.Nc4 Kf5 77.Ne3+ Kf6 78.Kf4 Kg7 79.Ng4 Kh7 80.Ke4 h5 81.Ne3 h4 82.Kf4 Kh6
I agree most NNUE engines (and LC0) almost instantly focus on the right move, also Komodo Dragon 3.3 in MCTS mode. The Chess Genius program is from another generation!
MfG,
Eric
