Re: AW: REVELATION II ANNIVERSARY EDITION Turnierschach

Frage: Welcher Schwachcomputer hätte den möglichen Sieg-Zug für die schnelle Sphinx 40, 18. Ld2xh6! gefunden?
Hi Egbert,
I'm afraid: none...

After slightly more than 1h30, The King Performance with completed depth 1/12 (210M nodes) still sticks to 18.a4 (+1,28) with 18.d2xh6 studied each depth as second best (02/55), but not selected so far.

On my laptop, only LC0 + LD2 (LittleDemon which is a small 128x10 net, as I have no GPU) selects Bxh6 quite fast (depth 6), two best lines displayed:
Code:
+0.77/6 18.Bxh6 Nxc5 19.Bxg7 Kxg7 20.Rg4+ Nxg4 21.Bxb5 cxb5 22.Nh5+ Kh6 23.h3 Kxh5
+0.73/6 18.b4 Qa4 19.Bc2 Qa3 20.Bc1 Qa6 21.Bb2 b6 22.Nf5 exf5
Then sticks to this choice (see depth 10 PVs):
Code:
+1.52/10 18.Bxh6 Re8 19.Be3 Qa5 20.Rh4 Bxc5 21.Bd2 Qd8 22.Rd1 e5 23.Bg5 Qb6 24.Qc2 e4 25.Nxe4 Nxe4 26.Bxe4
+0.64/10 18.b4 Qa4 19.a3 Rd8 20.Bc3 b6 21.Bc2 Qa6 22.Bd3
Other engines struggle to converge, with 18.b4 and even 18.Rc2 as alternatives to be considered (so, Sphinx 40's move was not a failer).

The evalutation gap between Bxh6 and Rc2 is rather thin!

Cheers,
Eric
